DoYouRemember? Nostalgia Lives Here
- ‘Dark Shadows’ was a soap opera that became a cult classic.

- The CW Network is bringing back the show with a revival called ‘Dark Shadows: Reincarnation.’
The soap opera Dark Shadows became a cult classic. It originally aired in 1966 and ended in 1971. Now, the network CW is planning to bring it back as a sequel. The new version of the show will be called Dark Shadows: Reincarnation. It will continue the story in the present day.
The show followed the lives of the Collins family, a wealthy family from Maine. Many supernatural things happened around them. Dark Shadows continually ranks high on lists of the best cult shows ever. The show featured many different supernatural themes such as ghosts, monsters, zombies, and more. Do you remember watching this show with your family?
The ‘Dark Shadows’ remake series will continue with the Collins family lives
According to Wikipedia, “The show was distinguished by its vividly melodramatic performances, atmospheric interiors, memorable storylines, numerous dramatic plot twists, adventurous music score, broad cosmos of characters and heroic adventures. The original network run of the show lasted for nearly five years to amass 1,225 episodes.” That’s a lot of episodes!
Mark B. Perry is a huge fan of the original series and will be writing the pilot for the new series. In addition, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “The reimagined show would continue the strange, terrifying and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential and publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: For the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue blood with every imaginable supernatural creature and horror.”
There was previously a ‘Dark Shadows’ film based on the original series
Several other networks have tried to revive the show with no luck. There was also a movie made by Tim Burton in 2012, where Johnny Depp starred as Barnabas Collins. CW might be the key to giving this show a comeback. They produce many other similar shows with supernatural themes including Riverdale, Vampire Diaries, and more. There will also be a Nancy Drew remake debuting this fall on the network.
In conclusion, what do you think about this sequel? Will you watch it or do you love the original too much?
